Smells like an update to me!
Now that Monk managed to ruin the surprise factor, I guess I might as well give you the full story...

Surprisingly, we're still alive and doing well as far as I know, thanks for asking. And yes, we're still working on Reaction. In fact, we have plans for at least one more release, let's call it 3.3 for now. So, what can you expect to see in 3.3? Quite a few updates, if I may say so myself!

First of all, there will be at least one new user interface, in addition to the old one that will become our first UI replacement, selectable through a new menu. This time we're paying special attention to functionality in addition to good looks, so hopefully you'll have an easier time exploring the various options we included in the game. I won't bore you with gory technical details, not now at least. I'll just promise you a few screenshots in the near future and move on to the next topic... mapping.

Mappers will get quite a few new toys to play with as well, the most significant update so far being the entity attachment tree code that allows entities to be attached to one another, opening the door to a whole world. Creating, for example, a moving train with working doors that also have breakable glass - something that everyone will tell you that "can't be handled by quake3" - is as easy as attaching the breakable glass to the doors and then the doors to the train. And that's just one simple use of this new feature. If other mod teams are interested in this, I will most likely write a tutorial on this topic once I get the time - my way of saying 'thanks' to the mod-making community for all the online resources that helped us a lot during the development of Reaction. Other than that, we have plans for a scripted gametype and scripted mapping events, but we still have to discuss this feature and find the best way to implement it. No worries, though, we're all pretty excited about the idea so it will probably make its way into the next version.

There will also be the usual bug fixes, a few new matchmode options, a new HUD font to replace the old one (or maybe even more, with an option to pick your favorite one) and, of course, some new maps for you to frag you friends in. More info (and screenshots) coming soon, so stay tuned.
